Recmar REC3581528 is a new aftermarket marine turbocharger for selected Volvo Penta 31-series and 41-series diesel engines, including the KAD32P-A. It replaces Volvo Penta references 3581528, 3802082, 838695 and 860916.

Fitment first: several of the engine names below can be found with more than one Volvo Penta turbocharger specification. Order this unit only when the existing turbo or parts information matches 3581528, 3802082, 838695 or 860916. The engine-family name by itself is not sufficient.

• 1 × new Recmar turbocharger assembly

Not included: installation gaskets, studs, nuts, oil pipes, hoses, exhaust elbow and ancillary mounting components. The related Recmar gasket set REC3582563 should be ordered separately where required.

Installation and ordering checks

• Match the complete engine designation and existing turbocharger reference.
• Inspect the exhaust elbow and exhaust housing connection for corrosion or restriction.
• Check and clean the turbo oil-feed and oil-return systems.
• Renew the engine oil, oil filter and all disturbed sealing components.
• Prime the replacement turbocharger with clean engine oil before start-up.
• Check the intake tract, air filter and charge-air system for contamination or restrictions.
• Correct the cause of the original turbo failure before installation.

Installation by a competent marine diesel technician is recommended. If the old reference is unclear, provide the full engine model, engine serial number and photographs of the turbocharger plate before ordering.
