It is used to seal the cylinder head to the engine block/cylinder assembly and is sold as a replacement gasket, not as a full powerhead gasket kit.

Fitment should be confirmed by OEM part number, Yamaha model code/parts diagram, or Mercury serial range. Do not treat this as a universal gasket for every Yamaha or Mercury 75-115hp outboard, because later 115hp/130hp families and non-Yamaha-based Mercury engines may use different cylinder head gaskets.
